Army Emergency Relief maintains two scholarship programs – the Spouse Education Assistance Program and the MG James Ursano Scholarship Program for dependent children. Both scholarships provide financial assistance for students who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree.

The average award for the 2012-2013 academic year was $2,500 with a maximum award of $4,500. The scholarship amount varies each year based on the number of applicants in each program and the budget amount allotted to the scholarship programs.

The deadline for receipt of scholarship applications and all required documents was 3pm EDT on May 1, 2013. We are processing applications now.  Please read below:

• We will contact the applicant if additional information is required when the application is reviewed.
• We cannot give status updates by email or phone.
• Final scholarship notices will be provided in June along with a Scholarship Agreement that must be completed and returned to us by 1 July 2013.
• If you did not submit a complete application by the deadline date, you may send an email to scholarships@aerhq.org with an explanation of why you missed the deadline date. You must enter “Scholarship Appeal” and the student’s name in the subject line. You must also attach any missing documents to the appeal email. We will address all appeals after all on-time applications have been reviewed.
